We transform spaces into dream zones for people in the arts, entertainment & hospitality industries. We cultivate & inspire creativity from novice to expert. We look for people who are doing good work in communities who deserve elevation. We find a way to make things happen. We pivot all the time. We fail, and know it's part of the journey. We get back up, and try to do better. Most importantly, we care for the people who entertain, create, host, serve and inspire. We challenge and build new systems. We keep showing up, even when we don't think we have anything left to give. Why? Because creativity is the abundant resource that comes from inside every dang person. We just have to tap in.
Below is a bit of our history. Over the next 3-4 months (Sept-Dec, 2026), we will be updating and providing a more comprehensive and representative timeline. A lot has happened through these 15 years. We hope you will find it both inspirational & aspirational and jump on board for our next 15.
What we've been working on for over a decade, movies take time y'all. Maybe this will be our retrospective decade.

This Is Noteworthy is a 501(c)(3) organization started in 2011 in Charleston, SC (originally called The Music Initiative) as a digital magazine and creator of video content, with the goal to promote independent musicians, venues, and organizations using music or film to elevate their communities.
The initial volunteer staff was 40 young professionals and college students from all over the United States, interested in furthering their skills and talents with real world experience in writing, designing, storyboarding, filming, and producing in a way that celebrated the artistic process.
Over the past decade, This Is Noteworthy added programs requested by the community, including:
In 2014, This Is Noteworthy started CHARM (Charleston Health Alliance for Regional Musicians) to subsidize healthcare and health insurance premiums for touring musicians and people in the music industry.
This Is Noteworthy programming has cumulatively created 720 jobs, featured 4540 musicians, and worked with 210 college students and 70 high school students.
As we celebrate the first decade of This Is Noteworthy, we aim to expand its life-affirming programs and grow its impact significantly over the next 3 years, ensuring the legacy of elevating communities through the arts for decades to come.
2022 welcomes program availability to Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
A bigger space was required, & off to The Royal American for 6 seasons.
